STC Canada West Coast unveils new web site

STC Canada West Coast is pleased to announce our revised chapter web site. The upgrade completes our three-year plan to upgrade our online services and better serve the technical communication industry in BC.

Chapter members will be receiving instructions by email for how to register on the new site to access the member’s only content.

Some of the new features of the web site:

Coast Lines online

Members-only content (Job Bank and certain Coast Lines content)

RSS

Resource Library

Improved chapter archive information

Improved Contractors zone

Dynamic content updates

Centralized member communication

Weblog-based publishing

The site uses pMachine’s Expression Engine system, a PHP-based web publishing system that enables dynamic content delivery and member-management features. Site development was supported by Venn Communications System.

The re-launch occurs on the footsteps of STC Canada West Coast receiving the 2006 Chapter Pacesetter award for the second year in a row. The chapter received the award on both occasions for our work in implementing innovative technologies in our community. Investigative work began on the new site in 2004/2005 year and design and implementation began during the 2005/2006 term.
