By all measures Pecha Kucha night was a success and not just because the projector bulb outlasted the presenters. But that was something to worry about too… From program concept to program event the planning and execution took about 5 months. The chapter has a lot of talented people and that includes those actors behind the scenes. A big thanks to Tony for live blogging it; and to James for handling computers A and B and having the light pen that everyone wanted but no one used; and to Takuro for creating and linking the prompt slide; and to Eagranie for floating the PK idea balloon, and to Heather, Program’s poetic and unflappable emcee. Great stuff!

Congrats to everyone on a great job, including Tony for the amazing real-time notes.  This was my first time at a PK and I loved it.  If only all communicators were so concise, polished and professional.  Brevity is the soul of wit!

Thanks to all the presenters!  I was very impressed with the Pecha Kucha night!  I found the presentation on AGILE a ‘lightbulb’ moment.  So many times, when applying to tech writer positions, they mention Agile.  It was great to hear it explained so well!

Also, having edited computer engineering PhDs, I was very interested in the ‘how we do math equations’ presentation!  I am keeping the notes from the blog on that one, because it’s one of those ‘I wish I knew that’ items.

I also enjoyed the less ‘technical’ presentations that remind us of the outside world!

Bravo and thanks to all of the speakers! They spent personal time gathering images and information to create the slide shows, worked and reworked the text to fit the PK format, offered brilliant suggestions and timely assistance to get the software and hardware working, willingly attended up to three weekend rehearsals, and produced slide files and revisions either on time or not late enough to matter.  :-)  Even after hearing the presentations four times, I found new things to think about.

Thanks to Tony as well, for taking the initiative to blog live about the event—great idea.

Pam, Takuro, Susan, Lois, Laurie, Karen, Jose, Eagranie, and James—great job! Thank you!
