If knowledge is your main motivation and you have a wide variety interests (from gaming to philosophy of science), how do you deal with the constant feeling that you don’t know enough? And how do you cope with the realization that every single area of enquiry or specialization (for instance, XML) is so vast that you will never know enough?
This is one of my latest reflections.

Good question, Tishikawa.

My question in return would be, “Enough to do what?”.

Yes, good question!

Personally, I’ve stopped quantifying how little I know, and instead pride myself on how quickly I can find the answers I need to move forward no matter what the question is. It’s a looser definition of “knowledge” but the pay is good. :-)

:-) Thanks for the reply, Tracey! And thank you Doug for your reply/question (I thought about it for a week).
Considering the purpose of my knowledge, I must say that I have always known more than my jobs have required. That probably answers my question beautifully. So, thanks.
I just feel that, sometimes, my curiosity is too “greedy” and hard to please.
