Oct. 24, 2009: Seven Essential Lessons for Effective Negotiation and Conflict Resolution

In this Negotiation and Conflict Resolution workshop, you will learn to:

Use proven bargaining tactics—very useful for salary and fee negotiations. Find ways to satisfy clients’ needs without sacrificing your interests. Infuse respect and trust in your relations with spouses, clients, co-workers, and colleagues. Deal with hairy and hair-raising situations.

About the speaker
Takuro Ishikawa worked as a negotiation trainer and conflict resolution advisor for four years, before moving to Canada from Colombia, South America. Under the mentorship of the NEST team—Colombia’s most reputable consultants in negotiation and conflict resolution—Tak trained hundreds of people from all walks of life: sales representatives, company managers, corporate executives, union leaders, community activists, and customer service agents.

The bulk of his experience in negotiation training and advising focused on customer service, sales, and teamwork. Some of the international clients he worked for include British Petroleum, Nestlé, Hewlett Packard, Bayer Crop Sciences, and Allianz. More recently, Tak volunteered at the Culture and Self Lab at the University of British Columbia, where he assisted in several studies on cross-cultural differences, in an effort to adapt his experience and knowledge to the North American culture.
