The Workshops:
- Media Movement and Moments: Mobile Content Creation – Leora Kornfeld / Ubiquity Interactive
With screens in our pockets, purses, and palms, a new content delivery channel has opened up. While the screens of televisions, computers, and public displays get larger, the cell phone’s unique feature is its portability and small screen size. The small mobile screen is said to be the best platform for truly understanding users as their behaviours and preferences change over the course of their day. This session will combine a presentation of a variety of mobile content installations with a collaborative workshop component that challenges participants to extract and apply the principles of developing content for the mobile medium.
- Defining and Developing an Information Strategy – Bob “Content Management Bible” Boiko / Metatorial, Inc. & University of Washington
In this workshop, Bob will help you begin (or continue) to develop an information strategy. Using your own or an imagined organization as a starting place, you will develop statements about what information could or should do for you.
- Choosing the Right Tools for the Job – Ann Rockley / The Rockley Group
This workshop discusses the outcomes and conclusions of a newly published report put out by CMS Watch, about Component Content Management Systems. CMS Watch are vendor-neutral industry analysts, and the report was researched and written by Ann Rockley and Steve Manning. The report - and this presentation - both specifically examine the technologies in the component content management space. For those unfamiliar with the term, “component content management”, it describes what was previously known as “single sourcing technical documentation using content management tools”.
