Rahel Bailie and Content Strategy: A Webinar (March 16, 2010 at 7 PM, PST)

Join Rahel and the STC Canada West Coast Chapter for this free virtual event on March 16, 2010 at 7:00 PM.

About This Webinar

Managing content goes beyond the creation and publication of documentation.

A familiar lament is that documentation isn’t considered until it’s too late in a project to create the quality of content we’d like to produce. Organizations often think of content as a grudgingly necessary task that can be undertaken at the end of a project, without considering the organization’s strategic goals.

Fragmented communications and pro forma documentation make for a frustrating user experience, but the user experience is where the need for content starts and where it should also end. The fact that various organizational silos create and publish content independently from each other not only affects internal metrics such as productivity, but also has external ramifications, such as damaging the corporate brand.

About the Presenter

Rahel Anne Bailie, President of Intentional Design Inc, develops and implements content strategies for organizations wanting to manage their content as valuable information assets. Coming from a strong technical communication background, combined with her information architecture and usability practice, Rahel has a unique understanding of content and its place in the design process. She will discuss the concept of content strategy as a way of managing content throughout its entire lifecycle, from concept to sunset, and connect this field of practice to opportunities for career advancement.
