Career profile:

I have been writing and producing technical documentation since 1993, when I supplemented a business degree with the Print Futures Professional Writing Program at Douglas College. I recently completed an MA in transpersonal psychology at Naropa University.

I enjoy making complex procedures and concepts easy to perform and understand. Finding the kernel that unlocks my own understanding so that I may communicate it to others is one of the joys of technical writing. I view the role of a technical writer as building bridges between people and technology.

I have been working as an independent contractor and consultant since 1995, and appreciate the opportunities this mode of business affords for working with different groups of people and learning new procedures, products, and technologies.

Following two years of working in-house for Computer Associates, my clients have included Coast Capital Savings, Rockwell Automation, Rockwell Software, Dynapro Systems Inc., Chancery Software, Xinex Networks, Edge Training and Consulting, and Wordsmiths International.
