She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University with a major in linguistics, giving her a great depth of understanding of language and communication. Barbara taught effective oral and written communication for several years as an ESL instructor, both privately and at an international language school. She has also worked for a provincial non-profit organization, coordinating and training staff and volunteers at a health clinic for 10 years. Her enthusiasm for written communication brings her to technical writing. Barbara completed a technical writing program and founded Proteus Document Development & Design in 2006. Her first manual won her Opt’s 2006 Executive Director’s Award of Excellence.
