STC CWC Editorial Team

Published: September 2009 in Career Development, Usability, Viewpoints

For years, the STC has run its annual competition with categories based on media rather than purpose. With a desire to better align with current technical communication trends, a task team is in the process of revamping the process.

So far they have realigned the divisions and categories, and are now looking for help revising the judging forms.

If you have five or more years as technical communicator and one or more years of experience judging at local or international competitions and are interested in providing approximately 2 to 4 hours over the next few weeks, send an email to Jane Smith of JEM Communications at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Select the categories for which you can offer the most expertise from this high level division and category list:

  • Training
    • Blended
    • Instructor-led
    • Self-paced
    • Promotional
  • Brochures
    • Catalogs
    • Fliers
    • Marketing
    • Posters
    • Informational
  • Books and book sets
  • Periodicals
    • Articles
    • Newsletters
    • Research articles
    • Annual reports
  • User Support
    • Job Aids
    • Online Help
    • Quick Reference

Next year’s competition should demonstrate more variety and relevance than in previous years.
