Looking Back and Moving Forward

Published: September 2006 in Message from the President

It is hard to believe that it has been a year since my term as chapter president began. I marvel at the execution of our many chapter volunteers who have made this a great year. To the 2005/2006 Executive team and the many chapter volunteers, it has been a pleasure to serve with you!

In addition to our many events (program and SIG meetings, Ginny Redish workshop, competition, Winter Party, newsletter) and services (newsletter, job bank, Contractors directory, chapter communications), various behind-the-scenes initiatives took place.

This summer, we plan to launch a redesigned CMS-driven Web site that will enable easier and better member communication. Much volunteer effort went into site design and software selection this past year. Chapter volunteers continued to explore how video and audio technologies can be used on our Web site to build a richer professional development experience for members. Also, Volunteer Wiki was developed for better shared volunteer resources.

Also this year, we built stronger relationships with sponsors and with other professional groups in our local community who share similar interests. We look forward to building on these relationships and seeing the value this will bring our membership.

Chapter planning has already started for next year. Now is the time to share your ideas. You can always email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with suggestions, or better yet, plan to attend our chapter strategic planning session in June.
